Message from Father James Parish Priest

Dear Parishioners

You will hopefully have seen the message above already. Public Mass celebrations will end at midnight on Friday 20th March. Our churches will remain open and you are welcome to come and pray. Please ensure you keep a safe distance away from anyone else who is there to pray.

We are trying to ensure everyone is aware and can you also tell anyone you are in contact with from the parish so that the message gets round.

If you need any non-urgent assistance please in the first instance contact Father James on 01263 822036

If you are willing/able to offer any help to other parishioners e.g. shopping/collecting medicine please let Father James know so that we can look after our parish during this time.

If you give regularly to the Parish at the Mass you attend, and if you are able to do this, please continue to put your offering to one side each week and bring it with you when Masses recommence.

We are facing unknown times and will put any updates on the parish website http://www.ourladyandstjoseph.info/

For the time being I will be saying a Mass on Sundays WITHOUT A CONGREGATION.  I will begin here at St Joseph’s at 9am and then go to OLR Cromer for 10am.  This will happen each week.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO ANTICIPATORY MASS ON SATURDAY.

On weekdays I will offer Mass at St Joseph’s on TUESDAY & THURSDAY at 10am, again WITHOUT A CONGREGATION but the Church will be open for private prayer for two hours after Mass.

On weekdays I will offer Mass at OLR on WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY at 10am WITHOUT A CONGREGATION after which people are free to come and pray.  The keypad enables you to come whenever you can but PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE DOOR IS FIRMLY LOCKED AS YOU LEAVE.

CONFESSIONS ARE NOT BEING HEARD FOR THE TIME BEING.  WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN THESE CAN RESUME.

These arrangements will remain in place until we receive any further word from the Bishops but I hope they will reassure you that the Church is not closing down and that you can join me in prayer at the times I have given and make a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION.

So, let us continue to pray for each other, and for our country as we go forward in faith.

Every blessing,

IMPORTANT POSTSCRIPT

Now that I have managed to get into the website I need to tell you that 20 copies of Living Faith  and  12 copies of Walk with Me Easter edition are available in both Churches for those of you who can come to pick them up.  If you can pick copies up for someone else then please do so and don’t bother about payment.
